Some of you may recall that last week I wrote about Celebrity Apprentice: Holly or Bret? - as a setup for last night’s final show of the season. The show was live in NYC, and Mr. Donald Trump waited until the very last minute of the 2-hour show to announce his next celebrity apprentice: Bret Michaels!
But both Bret and Holly walked away winners. (And I’ll tell you why in the next section.)
I will have to admit that it was refreshing not to watch a hostile showdown between Holly and Bret in the final boardroom. You could tell that they were friends first, and competitors second. Holly was the front-runner for most of the season and had won many people’s “heads” in the process. However, Bret won a lot of people’s “hearts” – especially with his ongoing health issues in the last couple of months.
Last night, Holly presented herself and her case with so much class and dignity – as she knew that she was coming in now as the underdog. She was absolutely amazing. She even admitted that on Sunday morning, her 5-year-old son told her that he was sort of hoping that Bret won. Gotta love the honesty of a child!
And Bret was his usual entertaining self. Mr. Trump asked him what he thought about the fact that a lot of people believed he was going to win by playing the Sympathy Card. He quickly responded that the answer he was planning to give had changed now that he was sitting next to Holly. He admirably “accused” Holly of playing the Hot Card (because she was indeed dressed to kill!), so he was now willing to play any card he needed to – even the Sympathy Card – to stay in the game. What a great response!
Thanks to Snapple Corporation, both Bret and Holly and their charities walked away winners. Coming into this final show, the plan was for Mr. Trump to hire his next celebrity apprentice, and have this apprentice walk away with $250,000 for his or her charity.
We learned, however, that Snapple changed this up a bit. They donated an additional $250,000 to the pot so that both Bret and Holly could each walk away with 250 G’s!
So, yes, Bret won the honor of being called the next Celebrity Apprentice, but both Bret and Holly walked away with a crazy amount of money for their charities: American Diabetes Association and the HollyRod Foundation. Congratulations! And nice job, Mr. Trump!
But wait, there’s more! As part of the final challenge, Bret and Holly came up with two new Snapple drinks (shown above). Snapple loved both drinks and decided to market them both – for a limited time – with a portion of the profits going to their respective charities.
The drinks have been selling in stores this past week, and according to Mr. Trump, they are “flying off the shelves”! So don’t delay. Buy your favorite drink(s) and help support the cause!
